Notes on Benchmarking Methodology

All numbers in this document:

  1. Are sourced to named vendor research, analyst firms (Gartner, McKinsey, Forrester), or 2026 primary research.
  2. Include vintage year (2026 or earlier where applicable).
  3. Avoid generic claims ("CDPs are growing") without specific rates or contexts.
  4. Note when a benchmark is based on self-reported vendor data vs third-party research.
  5. Include cautionary context where applicable (e.g., "self-reported" for vendor-sourced ROI).

When presenting to stakeholders: cite the source and year inline. Example: "Hightouch synced 2.17 trillion records in 2026 (Hightouch, 2026)." This provides credibility and allows stakeholders to verify.
